spliceviper asked:

I’ve been running for some weeks now and have developed some pain in both of my achilles tendons. I am a pronator and have attempted to resolve them with some orthotics. I also have purchased new shoes, but it hasn’t palliated the symptoms. Any ideas as to how i can resolve this annoying and limiting pain? Thanks!

Running works out muscles just like when you use wieght machines in the gym. Maybe you are running too much and not giving your muscles enough time to repair. Try running a few days a week and having a few off days to recover and repair. See if it works. Worked for me.

Like the person here said…try to slow down a bit on your work out, if not, try ice before and after the run. Like you may have high arches or may exercise in a way that puts stress on your Achilles tendon. You may have tight hamstring and calf muscles in your upper and lower leg. Your Achilles tendon may be tight, thick, and unable to stretch very well. Your tendons become stiffer and easier to injure as you get older. If you can stretch, try doing calf stretches, put a towel under the ball of your foot leg straight and pull back and hold for 15 to 20sec. thats to stretch the Gastroc muscle, to stretch the Soleus, do the same but this time bent the knee just a little and do the same.
    Good luck, feel better ♥♥
